About Investigations Law

Proactive Solicitors.

Investigations Law is a specialist firm based in Bolton, Manchester, acting for clients across England and Wales. We focus on early intervention when an investigation begins, working proactively to protect our clients’ interests from the moment any issue is identified.

We believe the defence case should be built from day one — not after a charge is brought. That is why we work closely with individuals and businesses facing police investigations, regulatory enquiries, and financial crime allegations. We offer investigative / pre-charge legal advice, guide clients through police interviews under caution, and take strategic steps to influence the direction of investigations wherever possible by putting forward the strongest possible defence case at the earliest opportunity.

Unlike traditional law firms, we do not sit back and wait for the prosecution’s case to emerge or the police to reach a charging decision. Instead, we assemble a strong case early — challenging the assumptions of investigators, highlighting alternative lines of enquiry, and seeking to prevent charges or secure a more favourable outcome for our clients.

Our expertise covers a wide range of serious and complex crime:

  • Financial crime and fraud

  • Money laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) cases

  • Restraint orders, cash forfeiture, and account freezing orders

  • White collar crime

  • Corporate investigations

  • Serious organised crime

  • Regulatory investigations

  • General Crime and Sexual Offences Investigations.

At Investigations Law, we work with leading experts early on such as forensic accountants, telecommunications and data experts, computer forensic specialists, health and safety experts, and independent investigators. This ensures that every aspect of the defence is fully explored, tested, and presented — whether in negotiation with investigators or in court.

Founded as a modern solicitor consultancy practice, Investigations Law is free from the limitations of a traditional law firm. We provide bespoke legal advice tailored to each client’s case — agile, strategic, and driven by results.

If you are facing any police investigation, financial crime inquiry, or regulatory enforcement action, contact Investigations Law today. We offer specialist legal advice and practical solutions — whether you need representation or longer-term strategic defence.

About Isaac Mirza LL.B, LL.M, MBA

Director, Investigations Law | Higher Rights Advocate | Criminal Defence Specialist

Solicitor | Criminal Defence | POCA & Regulatory Litigation

Isaac Mirza is a senior criminal defence solicitor with a national reputation for taking control of complex and sensitive investigations at the earliest possible stage. He acts almost exclusively for professionals, directors and business owners whose livelihoods, reputations and liberty are at risk.

His practice is focused on serious fraud, POCA and asset restraint, regulatory investigations, corporate crime and high-value confiscation proceedings. He is routinely instructed in matters involving multi-agency operations, cryptocurrency and forensic accounting evidence, encrypted communications, complex phone downloads, surveillance material and large-scale disclosure exercises.

Clients instruct Isaac on recommendation and when their case needs to be brought under control.

He is known for stepping into live investigations, identifying evidential weaknesses, and forcing the prosecution to confront defects in their case long before the matter reaches charge or trial. His approach is forensic, aggressive where required, and relentlessly fact-driven.

Over the last year alone (2025) he has:

– Challenged account freezing orders and asset restraint applications involving six-figure sums.
– Led defence strategy in Modern Slavery Act, drug conspiracy and large-scale handling stolen goods prosecutions.
– Co-ordinated multi-disciplinary defence teams involving leading counsel, forensic accountants, collision reconstruction experts, telecoms analysts and cryptocurrency specialists.
– Prepared and deployed defence case statements, expert rebuttal reports and POCA challenges that have fundamentally reshaped prosecutions before trial.
– Advised directors and regulated professionals facing career-ending allegations, disciplinary proceedings and parallel criminal investigations.

Isaac’s clients value one thing above all else: clarity.

They are given an honest assessment of risk, evidence and exposure from day one. There is no padding, no vague reassurance and no drift. Every step is planned, recorded and executed with the aim of preserving liberty, protecting assets and defending reputation.

He operates across the Crown Courts nationally, with a particular concentration in Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Maidstone and London. His work regularly involves complex digital disclosure, multi-handed defence conferences and urgent applications in time-critical cases.

Isaac is not a volume practitioner.

He deliberately restricts his caseload so that each matter receives senior-level attention. Every letter is evidence-driven. Every submission is built to be used in court. Every instruction is treated as if trial is inevitable, even when the objective is to stop the case before it ever reaches that stage.

If your business, assets or professional standing are under threat, this is not the moment for reassurance.

This is the moment for strategy.
